1. Light Up Breck with the Lighting of Breckenridge Winter Celebration (December 3rd, 2022)
Looking for the perfect way to kick off the month of December? Visit the town square and watch its magical winter transformation as the shops prepare for the winter holidays. The fun begins right on 503 S. Main St. at the Main Street Station, where you’ll be able to register and watch the Holiday Dog Parade and tree lighting event. The night will be packed with displays, pop-up shops from local artisans and Main Street vendors, and the famed “Race of the Santas” up and down the town’s main roads. The procession begins at 2:30 pm, but come as late as you like–the tree lighting won’t begin until 5 pm at sunset. The best part? There’s no fee to participate in this family-friendly event!
2. Watch A Christmas Storie in Live Theatre (December 8th, 2022)
If you’re a fan of the original film from the 1980s, you’ll love this live reenactment put on–courtesy of the finest talent in Breckenridge, Colorado. Get ready to get out on the town and support local theatre enthusiasts and actors as they bring the famous movie to life, live on stage. Ticket prices range from $20-$40, the proceeds of which support the local art and theatre groups responsible for the performance. Family members and friends of all ages are encouraged to attend, slipping back into a time past and beating the frigid temperatures in the best way possible! You can stop by and see the show December 8 at the Breckenridge Backstreet Theatre, home to many local performance troupes and artists throughout the year. 3. Thursday Ladies’ Nordic Ski Hour (December 8th, 2022)
Looking for friends to hit the slopes with? Get out there and network at the Thursday Ladies’ Nordic Ski Hour, courtesy of the Gold Run Nordic Center. The event runs for an hour between 11 am and noon on December 8, giving you one-to-one access with professional instructors and a group of new friends to master the slopes with. Ready to check it out? Be sure to be prepared! Bring your own trail pass and equipment, and come prepared to pay the $10 event fee. You’ll have to reserve your spot online before attending the ski hour, which you can do via Active.com.
Not available on the 8th, but still want to head out to the trails? You can sign up for Ski Hour every Thursday in December, including December 15, 22 and 29.
